Adoration is a form of worship and devotion to Jesus Christ, present in the consecrated host. Christians around the world have worshiped and prayed in this way for at least 750 years.
Every Tuesday from 9:00 am – 3:30 pm during the school year the Blessed Sacrament is on exposition in the Chapel. Exposition immediately follows the 8:30 am Mass in the parish chapel and Benediction is at 3:30 pm. During Exposition, you can pray in the presence of the Lord by reciting your favorite prayer, reading the bible, praying the rosary or whatever type of prayerful devotion that you prefer. There are books and pamphlets available for you to read at your leisure, all geared toward adding to the experience of contemplating the mysteries of our faith. You may also simply just sit, say nothing and keep Him company.
As the Blessed Sacrament is never exposed alone, 2 parishioners per hour are needed to specifically dedicate a particular hour on Tuesdays. Other than that, Adoration is open to anyone. If you are interested in dedicating an hour with the Blessed Sacrament please contact Michele Coldiron at email: adoration@stsimon.org
If you come to spend just a few moments or a portion of an hour, please let us know you were there by signing in.
